BELONG

We were made for community – to be in relationship with God and with each other. Authentic Christian community involves mutual love, care, and accountability as we seek to honor Jesus Christ with our lives.

membership matters: Starting Point

If you are thinking about joining our church family or simply want to learn more about Hunter Street, this is the place to start. Attend Starting Point, a class where you will find out what it means to belong to our church. You’ll learn how to get connected and also about our foundational beliefs, practices, and ministries. You’ll meet our staff and others thinking about joining. Pastor Buddy Gray leads the class in a relaxed and informative atmosphere. Dress is casual and everyone is fed.

We have a place for everyone in your family. Childcare is provided for birth-grade 6. Children, who are old enough to not be disruptive, can attend the class with their parents. If you have any questions about children attending the class, please contact Brady Tarr at 205-739-5332. Middle and High School students may attend the class with parents or on their own. Attending Starting Point does not obligate you to join our church, but it is a requirement for membership.

Register for the next class on May 5, 2024

Faith that grows

Small groups

Equipping all ages to grow in Christ is a priority at Hunter Street. Small Groups offer a chance to build friendships as we study the Bible, pray, worship, and reach our community with the gospel. Most groups meet on Sunday mornings. Choose a Small Group based on your life stage, family situation, or friends that you already know. There are groups for every age, preschool through senior adults.

Discipleship

“Go therefore and make disciples . . . ” Matthew 28:19. Following Jesus Christ means being a disciple and making disciples. There are many ways to do this at Hunter Street including being involved in a Small Group Bible study and participating in Wednesday Night Life classes. Wednesday Night Life includes a variety of discipleship classes that meet in the fall and spring semesters and are open to all adults. We take a break during the summer, offering events and activities of interest to the whole church family. Learn more.

serving others

Serve where you live, worship, work and play

We believe God sends out our church family to proclaim the gospel by the quality of our lives lived together and by our love for one another. Every Christian is to serve other believers in order to build up and encourage the body of Christ, being good stewards of God’s varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10

SERVE CLASS

God has gifted each believer to serve others. To discover your gifts and abilities, our church offers a class called SERVE. Here you’ll learn about your individual SHAPE as well as how to use your gifts to serve people where you live, worship, work, and play.

Contact the Ministries Department about the next SERVE Class. You’ll complete a SHAPE assessment before attending and the results will be provided during class.

If you are interested in volunteering/serving please contact the Ministries Department.

You can serve our community and our church. Check out these opportunities. Serve where you live, work, worship and play.

ON MISSION

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to hear the gospel and begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s what missions is about. You can play a part. It could be sharing the gospel in ministries right here in Birmingham—in ESL classes, a missions prayer ministry, or activities for children. Or it could be going overseas or across North America with a team to serve with our missions partners. Use your gifts and abilities to fill a role on a missions team. We’ll help you get started

Contact Lee Dymond Minister of Missions for more information.

WORSHIP

Worship is so much more than just music. We believe music and the arts are incredible gifts from the Lord to be used in our worship. Our weekend gatherings include biblical preaching, music, prayer, testimonies, baptism, the Lord’s Supper (once each month), and other elements.

Joy of Serving

The music ministry is comprised of ordinary men, women, and children who know first-hand of the greatness of God and of the abundance of His loving kindness, grace, and mercy in a believer's life. They are thankful, joyful, and excited about ascribing to Him the glory due His Name! They love the Lord and share that testimony by singing, playing an instrument, acting, speaking, and creating for God's glory.

For more information and to register for adult, student choirs, arts academy, and to view family worship content, visit Worship Arts Ministry.

We would love for you to serve in our ministry.
