CHILDREN’S CHOIRS

Making music and singing to God can be a lot of fun! At Hunter Street, the children's music program creates an environment where kids can learn about God and how to glorify Him through music and the arts.

Preschool Choirs (ages 3-5)

  • Opportunity for children to begin to develop an appreciation for music and for singing

  • Multiple choirs, divided by age

  • Periodic "in class" recitals for parents

  • Meet weekly in various locations during the school year on Wednesdays at 6:00pm

Children’s Choirs (grades 1-4)

  • Introduce kids to music and musical concepts

  • Includes multiple choirs, divided by grade

  • Sing periodically in children's worship, and annually in the "Christmas by Candlelight" service in December.

  • Meet weekly in various locations during the school year on Wednesdays at 6:00pm

Preteen CHOIR (GRADES 5 & 6)

This is Hunter Street’s choir for students in grades 5-6. In addition to leading periodically in Sunday services, they go on a mission tour weekend each spring.

  • Participation is open to all 5th-6th grade students

  • No experience or audition is required!

  • Visitors and new members are always welcome.

Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesday afternoons during the school year from 6:00 to 6:45pm in rooms C111/112.

HIGHER GROUND MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOIR (GRADES 7-8)

The Higher Ground Mission Statement is: "Students united to share new life in Christ through music and the arts." Higher Ground is Hunter Street's 60-80 voice choir for students in grades 7-8.

The choir performs at several Hunter Street events each year and periodically leads in Sunday morning worship. They also take their ministry on a mission tour every spring to Nashville.

  • Participation is open to all 7th-8th grade students

  • No experience or audition is required

  • Visitors and new members are always welcome

Higher Ground rehearses during the school year on Sundays from 12:30-1:30pm in Room S107/108.

CHI ALPHA HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR (GRADES 9-12)

Chi Alpha's Mission Statement is "Students united to share new life in Christ through music and the arts." Chi Alpha ("Christ First") is the choir for high school students, grades 9-12.

Typically a large choir (125 or more students each year), Chi Alpha performs in special concerts and events each year and periodically leads in Sunday morning worship. Each summer, the choir takes its ministry on tour to share the Good News of Jesus Christ all over the United States.

  • Participation is open to all high school-aged students

  • No experience or audition is required

  • Visitors and new members are always welcome

Rehearsals are weekly during the school year on Sundays from 12:30-1:30pm in the music suite.
